PPS Technician
Greystone is adding PPS Technicians to support our proprietary PPS precision-plating system. These machines are unique, automated, and tightly calibrated, and they require techs with real mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll inspect, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems, electrical components, and automation subsystems. You’ll work closely with the Senior Mechanical Engineer and play a critical role in uptime, quality, and operator capability.
If you come from automotive, marine, boiler, aircraft, small engine repair, industrial maintenance, or automation tech, your skills will transfer immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Troubleshooting & Repair
- Perform advanced troubleshooting on PPS automated process equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation-related faults
- Replace, rebuild, and align major components and subassemblies
- Perform root-cause analysis and communicate findings to engineering
Operator & Process Support
- Develop operators’ technical abilities and confidence
- Ensure SOPs are followed and provide real-world feedback to improve them
- Assist operators in resolving faults quickly and effectively
Tools, Parts, and Reliability
- Maintain jigs, service tools, and calibration fixtures
- Track and maintain spare part inventories
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase precision
Collaboration
- Work directly with the Senior Mechanical Engineer for training, design updates, and machine improvements
- Participate in upgrades, rebuilds, and major maintenance events
Qualifications
Required
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Hands-on mechanical repair experience in one of the following (or similar):
- Automotive technician
- Boiler operator/technician
- Marine mechanic
- Small engine repair
- Automation or industrial maintenance tech
- Ability to diagnose faults logically and independently
- Ability to replace, rebuild, and align major assemblies
- Strong mechanical reasoning and comfort working with tools, fixtures, and precision components
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with sensors or low-voltage signal systems
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments
- Exposure to automated machinery or process equipment
